A teenager has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Arbroath.

Croc Nicoll, 19, is accused of killing the man, who is believed to be 64 but has not been formally identified, in the town's Commerce Street on Tuesday evening.

He made no plea during a brief hearing in private at Forfar Sheriff Court.

He was remanded in custody and the case is expected to call again within eight days.
