Wheelie bins thrown at vehicles from bridge
A car and a lorry were hit by wheelie bins thrown from a bridge in Shropshire.
The car was struck on the northbound carriageway of the A442 at the Wombridge footbridge in Telford on Monday morning resulting in two people requiring hospital treatment, West Mercia Police said.
An HGV was hit in a second incident at the same bridge on Friday morning with the driver unhurt.
Det Insp Paul Drury from the force said he believed the two incidents were linked.
"This sort of behaviour is reckless, and not only can it cause serious damage to vehicles, but even more worryingly, it can result in serious injury to those travelling in the vehicle and potentially cause a devastating collision," he said.
"Fortunately, on these two occasions no one sustained any serious or life-threatening injuries.
"We believe these two incidents are linked and are appealing to the public for their help," he added.
The force issued a CCTV image of two people who may have had information, and later said they had been identified.
