Police are questioning the woman about the incident

A 54-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of sending malicious social media messages to the family of a man who was fatally struck by a motorbike.

Wiltshire Police said the comments were made in relation to the sentencing of Darren Roberts, 22, who was jailed for eight years and four months on Tuesday.

Roberts was travelling along Drakes Way in Swindon when he ran a red light and hit Neil Sharp who was at a pedestrian crossing. The 38-year-old died at the scene on 31 January 2022.

The woman is in custody for questioning, police said.
