A teenager who died after falling into water in Wirral has been named as Zack Sim by police.

The body of the 16-year-old boy was found by specialist search teams after reports a teenager had gone into the water at Eastham Locks at around 17:45 BST on Wednesday.

It is believed he may have suffered a medical episode and fallen into the water, Merseyside Police said.

"At this stage it is believed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Zack's death and the matter has been referred to the coroner," a force representative said in a statement.

Merseyside Police, North West Ambulance Service, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and the Coastguard attended the incident which happened near Bankfields Drive.
