Man charged after fatal crash on M40
National HighwaysA man has been charged after a woman was killed and man seriously injured in a crash on the M40.
The collision between a Peugeot Boxer van and a Hyundai Tucson happened between junction 11, for Banbury, and junction 12, for Gaydon at about 19:15 BST on Saturday.
Akashdeep Singh, 23, who was allegedly driving the van, has been charged in connection with the crash.
He appeared at Coventry Magistrates Court on Wednesday, when he was remanded to appear at Warwick Crown Court on 31 October.
Warwickshire Police said Mr Singh was charged with one count each of causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving while disqualified, causing death while driving without insurance, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and causing serious injury by driving while disqualified.
Det Sgt Stephen Barr, said: "We’re continuing to appeal for witnesses, especially anyone who saw a collision between a light-blue BMW 218 Coupe and a grey VW Golf in the moments before the collision involving the deceased and the suspect.”
