Man charged after street attempted murder probe

A suspect has been charged in connection with the attempted murder of a man who was found lying on a street.

Police Scotland were called to George Street, Paisley, at about 23:55 on Friday where they discovered the 40-year-old unresponsive.

On Saturday the force said he was in serious condition in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

Officers said a 31-year-old man is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.
