A special screening of Paddington has been organised to help raise money for a charity that supports adult cancer patients.

Royal & Derngate and Northampton Filmhouse will be hosting the Mayor’s Charity Family Gala screening of Paddington in Peru to raise funds for The Lewis Foundation.

Councillor Paul Joyce, Northampton Town Council mayor, will greet guests alongside the Jolly Christmas Postman – a character from the Royal Theatre’s Christmas show.

Children will receive a free Christmas present and can give any letters for Santa to the festive postman.

A portion of the money raised through ticket sales will be donated to The Lewis Foundation – a local charity that source, package and deliver free gifts and support packs to adults going through cancer.

The event will take place on 16 November at 14:00 GMT at the Northampton Filmhouse.
