Multiple crews called to fire at tyre business

Jonathan Millward Drone footage shows the fire and crews at the scene from above. There is a large building, which looks to have been mostly charred and burnt, being sprayed with water from fire hoses. The roof of the building has collapsed and there are several plumes of smoke coming from where the roof once was. The are lots of cars around the business - unaffected by the fire - and it looks to be in a rural setting.Jonathan Millward

Residents have been advised to keep all windows and doors shut after a large fire at a tyre business.

Norfolk Fire Service was called to Discount Tyres in Saddlebow, near King's Lynn, at about 04:00 GMT.

Appliances from King's Lynn, Fakenham, Terrington, Massingham, Heacham and Downham Market were sent to High Road and a thermal imaging camera was used to check for hot spots.

An aerial ladder platform from King's Lynn and the Environmental Protection Unit from Sprowston also attended.

Posting on Facebook, a spokesperson from Discount Tyres said the business would be closed for the foreseeable future due to a "massive fire outbreak".

They asked customers not to visit them, adding an update would be provided when suitable.

The fire service said it expected to remain at the site until Friday afternoon.

It said: "We have liaised with the Environment Agency and there is no risk to waterways.

"We are still advising people to keep their doors and windows closed while we continue to dampen down the site of the fire.

"Our Fire Investigation Team are now on site working to establish a cause of the fire."
