A man has been arrested after police found about 150 cannabis plants in a house.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers forced their way into the home in Debdale Gate in Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire, on Thursday after a member of the public reported a "strong smell".

Officers found and seized the plants which were spread across several rooms in the property along with a large amount of electrical equipment.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

Insp Kyle Davies said: "The plants have been seized and destroyed while the equipment associated with the grow will now be dismantled and put beyond use."
