Young entrepreneurs open Christmas gift shop
Enterprising students from a school in Knowsley are to open their own pop-up Christmas shop.
Pupils at Bluebell Park School, Kirkby, are taking over a shop unit in the town centre this week.
Headteacher Michelle Slater said products on sale would include Christmas gift sets, scented candles and phone charms, with profits helping fund further enterprise opportunities at the school.
She said: "The students have been really busy with researching and developing the products they would like to sell and I really look forward to people coming along to support them next week.”
Enterprise skills
A school spokesperson said the pop-up shop on St Chad's Parade would enable students to learn about enterprise and how to run a business.
Any profit made from the sales would help to fund opportunities such as the Duke of Edinburgh scheme at the school, which provides early years, primary, secondary and post-16 provision for students with severe and complex learning needs.
The shop will be open from 10:00 until 14:45 GMT from Monday through to Friday, 6 December.
The pop-up follows the school's Purple Tuesday event on 12 November, when students and staff were based in the shop for a day.
Purple Tuesday supports organisations to improve customer experience for people with disabilities and their families.
