Hospital staff discharged after chemical spill

Three members of staff injured in a chemical leak at a hospital have now been discharged, the NHS said.
West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust said the staff at Hemel Hempstead Hospital, in Hillfield Road, had been treated for minor injuries after a leak of cleaning fluid from a decontamination machine on Monday morning.
People were evacuated from the immediate vicinity and a decontamination area was set up following the incident in the endoscopy department.
The area was ventilated and the fire service was stood down at about 13:30 BST.
Patients are being told to attend appointments as normal unless they are informed otherwise.
