A family of beavers has been released at a nature reserve as part of a reintroduction project in the Cairngorms National Park.

The group of three Eurasian beavers includes one pair - a male and female - and one kit.

More beaver families could be released in the next five years

In December last year, beavers returned to the Cairngorms 400 years after the species was driven to extinction in Scotland.

A pair were released at Rothiemurchus Estate, near Aviemore, and another pair on land owned by billionaires Anne and Anders Holch Povlsen.

Over the next five years, 15 families could be released in the national park.
