PC charged with drink-driving on way to work

A West Yorkshire Police officer has been charged with a drink driving.

PC Lewis Goddard, aged 32, is alleged to have driven his personal vehicle to a shift at Stainbeck Police Station in north Leeds under the influence of alcohol on 17 February this year, the force said.

PC Goddard was arrested at the station and charged the following day, before being suspended from duty.

The officer will appear at York Magistrates' Court on 16 April.
