Police warning after spate of marine thefts
A number of thefts involving marine equipment has led to a warning from police.
Devon and Cornwall Police said incidents had been reported in Totnes, Dartmouth and Salcombe in Devon in the last few weeks, involving a boat, marine engines and other parts.
The force said businesses and members of the public should be vigilant and look out for suspicious behaviour in the areas.
Anyone who had information about any of the thefts should contact police, Crimestoppers or the Coastal Crime Line and quote Project Kraken, it added.
A Facebook post from Dartmouth Police said warning signs to look out for with marine thefts included people taking pictures, video or making notes at "vulnerable or restricted sites".
Other signs included people loitering or acting nervously around marinas or boat yards, unusual vessels in a marina, and people appearing to test the security of a marina.
