Woman injured in garden dog attack
A woman has suffered multiple injuries after she was attacked by dogs in her own garden
The victim suffered injuries to her arms, legs and face during the incident on Market Street in Hednesford, Staffordshire, shortly after 13:00 BST on Friday.
She was given first aid before being taken to hospital and a dog also injured in the attack was taken to a vet, Staffordshire Police said. Police said they believed the dog was attacked by other dogs at the location.
A 47-year-old man from Cannock has been arrested on suspicion of owning a dog dangerously out of control and owning a prohibited dog. The dogs involved have been secured.
A cordon was put in place at the address while officers investigated the incident. Police have not confirmed the number of dogs involved in the attack.
Ch Insp Matt Walker said: “I know this incident shocked those that saw what happened and will likely cause alarm amongst those in the local area.”
He said there was no wider threat to the public and officers would remain in the area to provide reassurance to residents and businesses.
