Man, 35, charged with woman's murder

A 35-year-old man appeared in court charged with murder after a woman's body was found in a house.
The woman, who has now been named as Isobella Knight, 32, was found dead in the property in Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire, on Friday afternoon shortly after reports came in of a car crashing into a McDonald's restaurant.
Paul Knight, of Donnington Road in Burton Latimer, has appeared at Northampton Magistrates' Court.
Mr Knight was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Northampton Crown Court on 18 June.
Northamptonshire Police said they received reports of a blue Skoda crashing into a McDonald's restaurant on Friday afternoon.
Initial inquiries led them to a house on Donnington Road where they found the body of a woman.
On Saturday, the force said it was not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.
A post-mortem examination found the woman had died as a result of pressure being applied to her neck.
The senior investigating officer, Det Insp Torie Harrison, from the East Midlands special operations unit, said a "comprehensive and fast-moving investigation into the circumstances of the death" was under way.
"I know news of this death will cause immense concern and distress to people in the local area, and we will be maintaining an enhanced presence over the coming days to provide reassurance and support as inquiries continue," she said.
"Our thoughts and condolences are with Izzy's family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. She was a much-loved daughter, sister and mother and the devastation caused by her death is immeasurable."
