Watford fans are being asked to contribute objects and memories relating to the football club

Watford fans have been invited to get involved in a new project to celebrate the history of their football club.

A team from Watford Museum will be at Saturday's Championship match between the Hornets and Norwich City, to listen to people's stories.

A 'fans' display' will then be created at the new museum, which is due to open in 2026 at the town hall.

Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: "Whether it's a treasured piece of memorabilia or a heartfelt memory, your contributions will help create a display that captures the spirit and passion of our town's beloved club."

As well as speaking to the museum team in person, fans can upload details of their "cherished items and accompanying memories" in an online form.

The museum hopes to create "a meaningful, interactive display that spotlights the experiences and camaraderie of Watford FC supporters".

It said not all items would be chosen for the final display and asked fans to contact staff first before sending in any objects.

"Your contribution will help us craft a vibrant and inspirational display, celebrating the pride and passion of past, present and future Hornets," the museum said.

Mr Taylor added: "We are really excited about the new museum embarking on this incredible project, celebrating the rich history of Watford Football Club. The club is such an important part of our community and history of the town."
