Gloucestershire in pictures: Sunsets and fireworks

Our weekly round-up of pictures taken across the county includes an incredible crisp winter view from the top of Selsley Common and a famous house in Tetbury.

The skies were also lit with fireworks across the week to celebrate the 5 November.

The skies above Gloucestershire were full of fireworks on Tuesday for bonfire night - and beyond.

Local photographer Jack Boskett captured this display at Tewkesbury Abbey.

There was a thumbs up from Pudsey for the BBC's Children in Need swimming challenge this week.

The team at BBC Radio Gloucestershire completed their part in the 1,000 mile challenge, swimming a total of 24 miles.

In Alderley, near Wotton-under-Edge, Jane Rhys and Jane Newman have crafted an entirely knitted and embroidered wartime scene.

It displays a World War One soldier with a helmet, rifle and backpack standing in a field of poppies against a sombre backdrop of shelled buildings and leafless trees.

The battlefield is criss-crossed by barbed wire and surrounded by the famous words from Laurence Binyon’s poem For the Fallen.

BBC Gloucestershire have been for a look around Chavenage House in Tetbury this week.

The home features in the star-studded series Rivals, which has just been released on streaming service Disney+.

The series is based on the book by Cotswolds author Dame Jilly Cooper.

Meanwhile, an entire street in Sharpness was sold at auction for £2.5m this week.

Dock Road was sold by the Canal and Rivers Trust to help raise funds for the charity.
