Appeal to get missing spaniel home for Christmas

A family who have been searching for their missing cocker spaniel for more than a month have said it would "mean the world" to them to get him back for Christmas.

Now they are fearing Henry has been stolen, after the two-year-old disappeared while chasing pheasants near his home in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, at the end of November.

His owner, Rachel Symons, said she was "just so exhausted" after all the searching, and her 13-year-old son, Sidney, was "beside himself" and so upset he "didn't even want to do Christmas".

But she said she had been "overwhelmed" by the support they had received from people all over the country.

Ms Symons said there had been a "massive campaign" to find Henry.

It has included more than 2,000 flyers being distributed around the country, banners on main roads and a Facebook group asking for support and sightings.

"There's a lot of people upset," added Ms Symons.

Volunteers have gone out to search the countryside near their home and a reward has been offered for the spaniel's safe return.

Various potential sightings have been reported, only to be later ruled out.

Lisa Dean, who has been coordinating the search, said: "We are looking more and more towards Henry being stolen."
