A fundraising appeal for a child born with a rare condition that makes her bones brittle has reached its £10,000 target.

Natarlia was born in May 2022 with osteogenesis imperfecta. In September she broke her femur which will need surgery.

The money raised from the online campaign for the two-year-old from Polegate, East Sussex, will fund a soft play padded sensory room.

Her mother Nicole said: "It just means our little girl is going to get her own magical play world."

Natarlia's father Peter said: "It means more than words can say.

"It just means our little girl is going to be able to play just like other children."

The family said they had been told by Great Ormond Street Hospital that Natarlia is the only person in the world with her particular condition.

It has taken two-and-a-half years to get permission and grants to build an extension to the family home to facilitate her needs.

The total cost has been £140,000.

One person has donated £6,000 to the padded sensory playroom fund.

Nicole said: "I would love to find that lady and thank her from the bottom of my heart."
