Statistics Jersey publishes inward migrant data
Fewer than half of the people who came to live in Jersey in 2017 were still there in 2023, a report has found.
The study by Statistics Jersey also found the most likely groups to remain in Jersey were young working adults aged 16-29 and people with registered status.
The report looks at the group of inward migrants who moved to Jersey in 2017, exploring their characteristics and experiences over a six-year period.
Results come from the period between 2017 and 2023, which included both Brexit (the UK leaving the EU) and the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which Jersey Statistic's said could have impacted migration trends.
People from Poland in particular were far less likely to stay than those from Britain, Portugal, and Madeira, the study showed.
