Five men have been arrested as part of an investigation into the supply of drugs in Cheshire.

Officers from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit said they searched properties across the county and seized drugs, a large amount of cash and criminal property.

They arrested a 35-year-old man, a 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, all from Crewe, on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

They also arrested a 36-year-old man from Middlewich and 36-year-old man from Sandbach on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs.

A 36-year-old woman from Sandbach was also arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

They have all been taken to local police stations for questioning, police said.

Speaking after the arrests, Det Insp Adam Cooke commented: “Today’s warrants are a culmination of a complex and covert investigation, targeting those we suspect are involved in serious organised crime across Cheshire, and beyond.”

He added: “We will proactively work with partners across the North West to dismantle organised crime groups who bring drugs, violence, and misery to our streets.”
