Tankers deployed after sewer bursts in boat yard
South West Water (SWW) has said it is "working around the clock" to repair a burst sewer in a Cornish seaside town.
The sewer burst at a boat yard in Looe and SWW said its teams were using tankers to transfer flows away from the area.
The company confirmed there was no active spilling.
It said the bottom half of the council car park had been shut to maintain a safe working area.
SWW said: "Our teams are working around the clock to repair a burst sewer at the boat yard in Looe.
"We are using tankers to transfer flows away from the area to prevent spills to the environment and we will be installing an overland pipe as a temporary measure until a permanent fix can be carried out.
"We would like to thank local residents for their patience while we work to resolve this as quickly as we can."
