A pedestrian has been left seriously injured after reportedly falling into a road and being hit by a car.
Paramedics were called to Stainland Road in Greetland at about 08:15 GMT to reports of a collision near West Vale Primary School, according to Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS).
An air ambulance was dispatched to the scene, but the casualty was taken by road to Leeds General Infirmary hospital, YAS said.
A spokesperson for West Vale Primary said the person involved in the incident was not a pupil at the school.
