The Eastbourne Half Marathon marks its 20th annual race on Sunday.

Runners will make their way along the seafront towards Beachy Head before looping back round Sovereign Harbour.

Organiser Sue Fry said she was expecting 1,100 runners but some prospective entrants could register on the day.

"It's not too late," she said. "People can still enter if they want to - hopefully they've done a bit of training though as it is 13.1 miles (21km)."

The event is raising funds for St Wilfrid's Hospice for a second year after raising a record-beating £8,237 for the charity last year.

Organisers have also hailed the 160 volunteers who are helping along the course route.

Ms Fry added: "We've got a lot of people from the community who are going to be out on the course making sure this event can happen."

The event starts on Sunday from 09:30 GMT at Princes Park.
