Investigation under way into cause of house fire

An investigation has begun into the cause of a house fire on a city's outskirts.

Emergency services, including seven fire engines, were called to Noot Alley in Bowthorpe, Norwich, at about 20:15 BST on Tuesday.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said those living at the house had got out by the time crews arrived and an investigation was ongoing.

Norfolk Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

Firefighters from as far as Loddon helped bring the fire under control.

The East of England Ambulance Service said one patient was assessed at the scene.
