A dispersal order is in place in a Nottinghamshire town after reports of children involved in anti-social behaviour.

Nottinghamshire Police issued the order in Bulwell's town centre and surrounding streets on Friday, following "several reports of (anti-social behaviour) generally involving children".

It means officers have power to arrest anyone who fails to the leave the area when directed to.

The force said it would review the order on Sunday - taking into account any new incidents - and decide whether to make a further dispersal order at 14:30 GMT.

Any children under the age of 16 believed to be engaging in anti-social behaviour would be returned to their homes, the police added.

"Their details will be taken and shared with partner agencies, including social care and housing.

"Continuation of (anti-social behaviour) will result in enforcement action," the force said in a statement.

The order is inside the boundary of Carey Road, Cantrell Road, Station Road, Bulwell Bogs, Bulwell High Road, Commercial Road, Rock Street, Squires Avenue, Main Street and Hucknall Lane, extending down to Leen Drive.
