A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attack outside a pub that left another man in hospital in a critical condition.

The assault happened outside The Church Inn, Old St Mellons, Cardiff, in the early hours of Saturday.

South Wales Police said the 61-year-old victim was still in hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.

The man arrested in connection with the assault was released on bail after he handed himself into a police station on Sunday, the force added.
