Somerset in Pictures: Fog and Harry Redknapp

Fog crept over much of Somerset this week, while volunteers were out collecting Christmas trees for charity.

Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp also made a visit to the county, to help a football team that's been having a hard time.

There was also the thunder of hooves as racing fans headed to Wincanton.

Top level help: Former Tottenham and West Ham manager Harry Redknapp paid a visit to Tunley Athletic FC as part of a promotion by opticians Specsavers. The football club was crowned the "Best Worst Team" after a season that saw them lose all 26 of their games and finish with an astonishing goal difference of -137. Redknapp gave them some tips and motivation. Let's see if it works!

Clearing the last: Racing action returned to Wincanton this week, with riders and runners providing the crowd with action on Thursday despite the foggy conditions.

Clearer skies: However, Press Association photographer Ben Birchall captured this lovely aerial shot of Glastonbury Tor when the fog had disappeared.

Feeding the masses: Julia Wright and Peter Skinner, who run the Leather & Lace Bar and Grill in Chilton Polden have found a new income stream by setting up a food truck to feed the many workers building the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station.

Not going to waste: Bruton Tree Care volunteers in Shepton Mallet added some brightness to the sad task of disposing of Christmas trees. They were part of a team of people helping to raise £32,000 for St Margaret Hospice's, by collecting trees and chopping them up.
