A conference designed to give the public and the business community on the Isle of Man an insight into the government's future plans is set to return for a third time.

The Government Conference will take place on 17 and 18 September at the Comis Hotel in Santon.

The 2024 focus will be the economic challenges facing the island and discussions will include ambitions for national air and sea connectivity and utilising artificial intelligence.

Chief Minister Alfred Cannan said 2024 agenda was "designed to provide deeper insights and foster meaningful conversation" about business and the economy.

The government conference was launched in 2022 in a bid to boost public engagement over national policy plans.

Other topics for discussion at the September event include incentivising the island's workforce to support the current and future skills demand, updates on the future shape of public service delivery and the immigration process.

People who would like to attend the 2024 conference must register in advance.

Mr Cannan said while the focus for the conference would be business and the economy, the Council of Ministers had committed to holding another Listening to You roadshow in the spring.

"These combined initiatives will give the community opportunities to engage directly with Ministers, fostering open communication and engagement on critical areas of government policy and performance," he added.
