A man has been left with injuries to his face and head following a "serious assault" in Plymouth, police say.

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called to the incident at Moor View Terrace shortly after 19:00GMT on Sunday.

The force said the man recalled being "chased and hit" after an argument with an unknown man.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment, it said.

Police have asked anybody with information to get in touch.
