A man has suffered life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car in Sheffield city centre.

The 36-year-old was crossing the road at the junction of Suffolk Road and Granville Road on Friday at about 19:25 GMT, South Yorkshire Police said.

He was struck by a red Lexus, which was travelling on Suffolk Road in the direction of Queens Road, according to officers.

The man remains in hospital and police have asked anyone with information about the crash to contact them.
