Man arrested over threatening email to schools

A man has been arrested over a "threatening email" which police said was sent to a number of schools in West Yorkshire earlier this week.
The email was received by "several schools across Halifax" overnight on Wednesday, according to police.
The man had been arrested "in connection with a malicious communication matter" and he remained in custody, a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.
"Police have assessed the content of this email and do not believe it poses a credible threat," they added.
"Officers are continuing to liaise with the schools concerned and are working with partners to provide reassurance and advice."
The force said reassurance patrols were being carried out at the affected schools.
