Deputy due in court over immigration allegations

Jersey politician Deputy Philip Ozouf is due to appear at the Magistrate's Court on Friday, he has told the States Assembly.

He said it was in connection with alleged offences under the island's Immigration Act, linked to the employment of Rwandan nationals.

Deputy Ozouf said he would not make any further comment as the case was ongoing.

He has served in the States since 1999 and held a number of senior positions, including serving as assistant chief minister and minister for treasury and resources.
