Plans for over 170 new homes in Wragby approved
Plans for 171 new homes on the edge of a Lincolnshire town have been approved.
East Lindsey District Council has granted permission for North Country Homes to build the properties on land south of Millbrook Lane in Wragby.
The development will include 61 two-bedroom semi-detached houses, 43 three-bedroom semi-detached houses, 53 three-bedroom detached houses, and 14 four-bedroom detached houses.
However, one resident, Jenny Jeffery, said the village was already "overdeveloped" and struggling with limited resources.
She said: "There are no jobs for people in Wragby.
"The businesses are closing down, the village will become a satellite dorma town for Lincoln, but to what cost?"
The plans for development, which were first submitted in 2023, received14 objections.
Each property will have its own parking space, with some offering electric vehicle charging points. Public transport will be available, via the existing network, on Millbrook Lane.
The project also includes open spaces designed for children and families to enjoy, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
The applicant explained in its design and access statement that the housing would "range in scale and massing" and include corner dwellings alongside traditional semi-detached and detached designs.
It added: "The scheme includes 11 house type sizes.
"A range of semi-detached combinations are provided from these main house types, providing interest and variety to the street scene and to reflect and complement the character of existing housing in Wragby."
