A teenager has admitted starting a large fire at a disused factory.

Twenty-five fire appliances from Suffolk and Essex were called to the former Delphi Diesel Systems site on Newton Road, Sudbury, Suffolk on 28 May.

A 14-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was previously charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.

He pleaded guilty at Ipswich Magistrates' Court on Thursday and will appear again for sentencing on 14 November.

The factory, which made components for the motor industry, closed in 2020, causing hundreds of job losses.
