A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing at a north London Underground station.

Officers were called to Seven Sisters station in Haringey at about 08:45 BST on Tuesday following reports of a serious assault.

The victim, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital with "life-threatening injuries consistent with being stabbed", where his condition is stable, British Transport Police (BTP) said.

A 15-year-old girl who was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent has been released on police bail.

A spokesperson for BTP said: "While attempting to evade arrest, a 20-year-old man from Tottenham sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-changing.

"He has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder; he is receiving medical care."

A woman, aged 18, and a 17-year-old boy were also arrested but have been released with no further action.
