The first phase of repair work on a former quarry hit by a landslide after bad weather is due to be completed next month.

A slope at the bottom of what was Chilwell Quarry collapsed after heavy rain during Storm Babet last October.

Earlier this year residents in neighbouring Leamington Drive said it was a "nightmare" living next to the site.

Broxtowe Borough Council said it has been drilling anchor bolts "deep into the cliff face" and fixing netting to secure the site.

The authority said the first phase of repairs "is due to be completed in September", adding it will carry out "further assessment of the wider quarry" to see if additional work will be necessary.
