Missing man traced by police six days after crash

A man who went missing six days ago after a crash on the A7 in the Scottish Borders has been traced by police.

Emergency services were called out to the crash involving two cars close to the Lindean Junction near Selkirk at about 19:10 on Tuesday.

Shane Donnelly, 26, believed to be the driver of one of the vehicles, was not at the scene when officers arrived. He is also known by the surname Barr.

The female driver of the second car was taken by ambulance to Borders General Hospital and a major search operation was launched for the missing man.

A police helicopter and dogs were involved in efforts to find him and police said they were concerned he was injured after the crash.

A spokesperson said: "Officers have now spoken to Shane and have no concerns regarding his wellbeing.

"Inquiries continue, however, he is no longer being treated as a missing person."
