The four-storey building would be partially converted into flats

A vacant town centre bank could be partly converted into flats after a planning application was submitted.

Six one-bedroom flats would be created in the former NatWest branch on Castle Street, Dudley, in the proposal lodged with Dudley Council.

The ground floor of the four-storey building would be kept as a retail unit, with one of the flats located at the rear. The other five would be on the upper three floors.

The applicant's representative Chris Ralphs Architects said the building's facade would be retained to help preserve the character and appearance of the area.

The bank closed in March 2024 as a result of falling demand with more people turning to digital services, NatWest said.
