Twelfth arrest made in murder inquiry
Police investigating the death of a man after a serious assault have made a twelfth arrest.
Ryan Burton, 34, from Corby, Northamptonshire, died in hospital on 16 January, six days after an incident in Kettering.
Northamptonshire Police said the latest person to be arrested in connection with the attack - a 28-year-old woman from Kettering - was being questioned on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice and she remained in custody.
Ace Hill, 18, of Minden Close, Corby, has been charged with Mr Burton's murder and robbery and is due to appear at Northampton Crown Court on 21 March.
The force said 12 people had now been arrested as part of the investigation:
- One (Mr Hill) charged with murder and remanded in custody
- Seven arrested on suspicion of murder and released on police bail pending further inquiries
- Three arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and released on police bail
- One arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, and in police custody
Mr Burton was "seriously assaulted" in Spring Rise Park, Highfield Road, Kettering, shortly before 19:00 GMT on 10 January and police are continuing to appeal for information from the public.
