Gritters deployed to icy A-road after multiple crashes

A major A-road has been reopened after ice caused several vehicles to spin out of control.
Wiltshire Police said it had fully closed the A350 from the M4 junction 17 roundabout to West Cepen Way near Chippenham following "three separate collisions" on Friday morning.
It is believed a patch of surface water on the tarmac had frozen overnight. Wiltshire Council has now deployed gritters to prevent more frost and ice.
No injuries have been reported, police added.
