Street food tour to showcase regional food scene

Street food stalls will be springing up in Midlands towns, cities and countryside as the weather warms up after a street food event operator unveiled dates for its 2025 tour.

More than 40 Digbeth Dining Club events are taking place between April and September and director Bobby Barnes said the club was "buzzing to be back on the road".

He said the tour would bring "good food, good vibes and good people to every corner of the West Midlands".

Organisers wanted everyone to experience the region's "vibrant" food scene, he said.

The first pop-up event will take place at The Waterfront in Brierley Hill on 11 April, followed by Codsall Dining Club on Easter Monday.

Organisers said further dates were planned in parks, fields and beauty spots, including Warwick Castle and Compton Verney in Warwickshire and Bantock Park, Wolverhampton.

New sites this year include Barton Marina in Staffordshire, Attingham Park in Shropshire and Crown Meadow in Evesham.

"It's been brilliant to see how the tour has grown over the years, giving us the opportunity to champion the very best of street food in our region and offer a platform to up-and-coming food vendors," Mr Barnes said.

He added he hoped the coming tour would be the "best one yet".

Digbeth Dining Club tours had amassed a huge foodie following, with more than 70,000 people attending the events every year, the director said.

The 100-plus street food traders booked this year include Birmingham-based Original Patty Men, Hawker Dan, Cofton Pizza, Urban Spice Box and Bournville Waffle Co.

Events will also include music, family-friendly activities and cocktail caravans and fizz bars.

Dates have been set until August, with more to be announced.
