A dog has been seized after it was left behind when police officers pursued a group of poachers in Lancashire.

Officers chased the group, who were thought to be poaching hare and deer, on fields in the Ballam Road area of Lytham on Saturday evening after being alerted by a farmer.

Lancashire Police said the men fled in a Subaru vehicle but in their haste abandoned one of their dogs.

The force has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
