A family has paid tribute to a "doting" father who has died two weeks after a crash in North Lanarkshire.

Jonathan Bruce, 34, was on the A8011 Glasgow Road in Cumbernauld, where his vehicle crashed at about 21:00 on Saturday 17 August.

Mr Bruce was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he died on Sunday.

His family described him as a "loving, caring husband, and a doting dad to his three children".

In a statement released through Police Scotland, they said: "He was loved by so many and a great friend to everyone who knew him.

“We ask for privacy at what is a very difficult time for us as we try and come to terms with our loss.”

The force said inquiries into the crash were ongoing and officers are continuing to appeal for information.

Sgt Ross Allison urged anyone with information or dashcam footage of the area at the time of the crash to contact police via the non-emergency line.
