A 13-year-old boy who was injured in a crash in West Yorkshire a fortnight ago has died, police said.

The crash took place on the A672 Oldham Road near the village of Rishworth shortly before 01:00 GMT on 4 February.

Five other teenagers who were also travelling in the black Vauxhall Corsa were arrested in connection with the incident and have since been released on bail.

Det Insp Paul Conroy from West Yorkshire Police said: "This is a tragic incident which has resulted in a 13-year-old boy losing his life. Our thoughts go out to his family and specialist officers are working to support them at this time."

Det Insp Conroy said police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and appealed to anyone with information or dash cam footage to get in touch.
