Rescuers found a child who had become trapped in a bramble bush after going missing.

The 10-year-old was reported missing at about 17:40 GMT on Tuesday near Morwellham Quay in Devon.

At about 19:15 GMT, a noise was heard and the child was discovered caught up in some brambles in woods near the River Tamar, about 1km (0.6 miles) from the place they were last seen.

Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team, Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England, Plymouth Coastguard, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, NPAS Helicopter and the RNLI from Plymouth Lifeboat Station were all deployed.

The child was later assessed by a doctor.

A spokesperson for Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team described the outcome of the search as a "fantastic result" and wished the child a "speedy recovery".
