Woman dies in collision between pedestrian and car

A woman in her 60s died in a collision between a pedestrian and a car, police have confirmed.

Essex Police have appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage after the incident on Palmerston Road in Buckhurst Hill shortly after 07:30 GMT.

The road was closed between Victoria Road and Westbury Lane while emergency services worked at the scene, but has now reopened.

A police spokesperson said: "Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a woman in her 60s died at the scene."
