Boy arrested after 13-year-old girl raped in park

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of raping a 13-year-old girl in a park.

West Mercia Police said the attack took place at about 19:00 BST on Tuesday, in woodland close to the Telford Town Park visitor centre.

The boy, who was arrested on Wednesday, remained in police custody for questioning on Thursday, the force said.

Det Insp Craig Newey added: "We are content we are not looking to identify any further suspects."
