Five people have been arrested on suspicion of hare coursing in Lincolnshire.

Two boys, aged 11 and 15, and three men, aged 23, 38 and 41, were held after the car they were in crashed into a ditch near Sleaford.

It happened on Lincoln Road, near Digby, just before midnight on Tuesday.

Lincolnshire Police said five dogs were seized.

The force said in a statement: "Hare coursing is barbaric and we will continue to arrest offenders, seize their dogs and cars and put them before the courts to halt their illegal activities."

The suspects are all from outside the county, police said.
